Leipzig genügte eine konzentrierte, aber keine herausragende Leistung zum Sieg gegen Gladbach. Weil Xavi Simons zauberte und Loïs Openda lupfte. Im Stadion herrschte überwiegend Stille, nachdem ein Fan im Stadion gestorben war.
