Zum ersten Mal seit 31 Jahren sind in Japan wieder Schiffe ausgelaufen, um aus offiziell kommerziellen Gründen Jagd auf Wale zu machen. Auf der Abschussliste für dieses Jahr stehen insgesamt 227 Meeressäuger.
